The Berrien County GOP is planning an engagement next month with some special guests.
The party says May 9 will bring “Battleground Michigan: Untold Stories from Michigan Freedom Fighters,” featuring men pardoned by President Donald Trump for their roles in the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
On its website, the Berrien County GOP says Jeremy Rodgers was charged with six felonies and three misdemeanors in the January 6 case. He was later convicted. Ryan Kelley was also charged with misdemeanors and convicted. The Berrien County GOP says Kelley, a former candidate for governor of Michigan, “was jailed as a political prisoner.”
Additionally, the party will welcome twin brothers William and Michael Null, who were tried and acquitted in the case involving a plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer. The county GOP calls the case a hoax.
Some tickets for the engagement with these guest speakers are still available. The event itself will be at 7 p.m. on May 9 in Stevensville.
