Verdis Ruth Burrows, age 87, died at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, FL on February 12,
2025. Born in Loveland, CO, she was the daughter of the late John and Lorna (George)
Rediess.
Verdis spent her life not only as a loving and attentive mom, but also as
wonderful elementary school teacher in South Haven, MI. She loved spending her time
away from the classroom with her family camping at Pine Lake in Michigan, as well as
Pine Island beach in Weeki Wachee, FL for family gatherings.
After retiring from her career as a school teacher, Verdis took time to enjoy life. She enjoyed traveling and line
dancing.
Left to cherish Verdis’s memory are her daughters Linda Thorpe, Susan Burrows, Beth
Nou, Becky Ricca (Ron), Cheryl Burrows, Carol Erickson; and her son Doug Burrows
(Amanda); 19 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents,
brothers and sisters, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce who died in April,
2023.
A graveside service at Monk’s Cemetery will be arranged by Starks Funeral Home
in South Haven, Michigan June 14.
