It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shari Lynn Fergison, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Shari was born on November 13, 1961, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Darrell Gifford and Wanda Gifford. Shari spent her life dedicated to her family and her work as a nursing assistant in the medical field.
Shari was a vibrant soul who found joy in the simplest of pleasures. She had a deep love for gardening, reading, and all things outdoors. Known for her warm smile and infectious laughter, Shari had a remarkable ability to connect with others; she never met a stranger, and to know her was to love her.
Her nurturing nature was most evident in her role as a mother to Krystal (Bruce) Bailey, Jeremy (Crystal) Nelson, Jamie Lynn Nelson, Melinda (Greg) Adams, Melissa (Erica) Nelson, and Brianna (David Howard) Thompson. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will resonate with her family and friends. Shari’s brothers and Sisters Ron (Kathy) Gifford, John Gifford, Michael (Linda) Gifford, Becky (Reiny) Fitz, Tim (Lori) Gifford, and Linda Gifford. Each of them will miss her dearly. Shari also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jamie Lynn Nelson, mother Wanda Gifford and brother Michael Gifford.
In honor of Shari’s life, a funeral service will be held on April 25, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Public visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. These services will take place at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services
Shari will be laid to rest at Galien Cemetery at a later date.
As we mourn the loss of Shari Lynn Fergison, let us remember the joy she brought to our lives and the lasting impact she made on everyone she met. In our hearts, she will always remain a beacon of love and light.
