
Marcile Vivian Buck-Williams, 82, died peacefully April 16, 2025 in the comfort of her family’s presence.
Her life began March 4, 1943 in Jones, Michigan the ninth of twelve children born to James Albert Buck and Olive Elizabeth (Wright) Buck.
Marcile was a wonderful stay at home mother to her children and to others in the family and community, always making people feel welcomed to her home and table. She later worked for Progressive Farms, at AT&T, and as a cabinet builder. She attended her family’s church, the Church of God in Vandalia, Michigan.
Marcile will be greatly missed by family and friends. She leaves to mourn her passing and continue her legacy her seven children, Trenholm C. Williams, Jr., Cassandra O. Williams-Brown, Lester A. (Anita) Williams, Lonnie K. (Julie) Williams, Rodney S. Williams, Timothy W. Williams, and Stephanie T. Williams. She also leaves to cherish her memory twenty-three grandchildren, Shamika, Karlton, Lester II, James, Monika, Lonnie Jr., Rodney Jr., Taira, Tiffany, Keondra, Brandie, Breanna, Cierra, Whitney, Timothy Jr., Vivian, Brett, Mathew, Jermaine, Reese, Andrew, Timiya, and Aponi; thirty-five great-grandchildren; her brother, Charles Buck; a host of nieces and nephews; and her dear, dear friend, William “Bill” Goins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Olive Buck; her in-laws, Cornelious Sr. and Lena (Kennedy) Williams; one great granddaughter, Taryn Nelson; ten siblings, Otto Buck, Clara Fleming, Dorothy Haines, Franklin Buck, Barbara Wilson, Paul Buck, Ronald Buck, Roger Buck, Larry Buck, and Richard Buck.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 12 Noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m. in Church of Cassopolis, 520 Pearl Street, Cassopolis. Marcile will be laid to rest in Calvin Center Cemetery, Cassopolis.
