Under the tagline, “Fighting to make Michigan Great Again,” former Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox is running for governor.

Cox made the announcement on social media this week.

We need to stop taxing work,” Cox said. “Eliminate the income tax. Restore right to work. DOGE regulations. Make it easier to find that good job or build that new business.”

Cox joins other Republicans, like Michigan Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt and U.S. Representative John James, who have also announced their candidacy.

Democrats in the running are Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist, and Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson.
