The economic environment has changed, and so have the feelings of west Michigan business owners. The problem is that business planners hate uncertainty.
Researcher Brian Long from Grand Valley State University found that there’s a lot of new investments, new hires, and new programs that have been put on hold.
“The thing that most everybody agrees on is that major changes to the very foundation of our economy are occurring very rapidly, and no one can say with absolute certainty where we are going to be in, say, even the next few months,” Long said.
Long says as of now their data indicates that the West Michigan economy is stable.
