Betty Benson, 92, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Caretel Inns of St. Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 4, 2025 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 E Delaware Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022. Burial will follow at Hagar Lakeshore Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, 49085 with a rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Betty was born November 18, 1932 in Benton Harbor, MI to Alphonso & Josephine (Romeo) Davino. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1952. On August 18, 1953 she married Clayton Benson. Betty was the co-owner of Benson Carpet Shop in St. Joseph for many years. She also spent many hours volunteering at Memorial Hospital in St. Joseph. Betty was always smiling and enjoyed life. She loved going for walks, reading, embroidering, shopping, spending time with family, especially during the holidays and was an avid Yankees and Tigers fan.
Betty is survived by her husband Clayton Benson; children Lori Benson, Linda (Mike) Murray, and Kirk Benson; grandsons Bradley Benson, Maxwell Murray, Nicholas Murray and A.J. Tyler; granddaughters Kristine Collins and Kylie Benson; great grandchildren Kiya Collins, Virece (Buddy) Berry, Kendrick Berry, Hailey Benson and Lucas Benson; siblings Yolanda Dignen, Rose Fuller, Delores Cotham Donald Davino and Shirley Garrison; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, son Gary Benson and siblings George Davino, Moe Davino and Gloria Bishoff.
