If you’re looking for something to do with the kids over spring break, “Butterflies are Blooming” is underway at Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids.
Gardens senior vice president Steve LaWarre says the exhibit is a sight to see.
“We get over a thousand butterflies every week that are released into that conservatory,” LaWare said. “So there are thousands and thousands of butterflies flying freely in that space over the course of those two months. And it runs about 80 degrees in there, over 60% humidity, so it feels like you’re in the tropics.”
It’s five stories high, and LaWare says walking in there is like walking outside.
LaWarre says the exhibit runs through April 30. This is the 30th year for the exhibit.
