Food industry professionals will gather in Kalamazoo this week for the Western Michigan University Food Marketing Conference.
More than 1,000 food professionals will attend the companies, from companies like Meijer, Kroger, and Spartan Nash. Director of the university’s food marketing program, Dr. Russell Zwanka, says they have a lot to talk about.
“We’re all trying to figure out how to handle inflation and tariffs and things like that,” Zwanka said. “And so that is those are underlying themes that will come out through strategic leadership and thought leadership. They will come out through customer trends and how customers have also been adapting to the new reality of inflation.”
Zwanka says they’ll be talking about customer trends, technology, brand building and sustainability at the conference on Tuesday and Wednesday. He adds the conference is a good networking event for students and it often leads to internships.
