Berrien County has hired a new human resources director.
County Administrator Brian Dissette tells us Kristin Reynolds will be taking on the role.
“We’re excited,” Dissette said. “She is a PhD candidate. She’s a former HR director for Southwestern Michigan College, and she’s a Niles resident. So we think we found somebody that really can take the ball and run with it.”
Dissette says the current HR director is retiring after long service to the county.
“Shelly Jasper has wrapped over three decades of high quality service to Berrien County. She has actually agreed to return on a part-time basis, so her retirement I think lasted about a day.”
Dissette says Jasper will stay on to help Reynolds get her bearings.
The Berrien County Board of Commissioners on Thursday approve the hiring of Reynolds at a salary of $101,000.
