With St. Patrick’s Day coming up on Monday, AAA of Michigan is activating its Tow To Go program to help those who’ve had too much to drink get home safely.

AAA spokesperson Adrienne Woodland tells us Tow to Go will give you a tow if you’re in dire need.

When someone calls Tow To Go, AAA dispatches a tow truck to transport a would be impaired driver and their vehicle to a safe location within a 10 mile radius,” Woodland said.

However, as always, Woodland stresses that Tow To Go is to be viewed as a last resort. She urges anyone who might be drinking to arrange for a ride first. Still, Tow To Go will be there for those whose ride plans have fallen through.

This program is open to AAA members as well as non-members. It’s also free. Tow To Go will be active from 6 p.m. on Friday, March 14 until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18th.”

Since it was created more than 25 years ago, Tow To Go has helped nearly 30,000 would-be drunk drivers get somewhere safe without getting behind the wheel. Woodland says AAA prides itself on being the last line of defense against impaired driving.

The number to call is 855-2-TOW-2-GO.
