Set for March 19 at D’Agostino’s Navajo Bar and Grille in Bridgman is the next “Commerce and Conversation” event to be hosted by the Greater Bridgman Area Chamber and Growth Alliance.
The CGA’s Nancy Kiernan tells us the gathering is a way for local business owners to network and talk about promoting economic development in the community with government leaders. The special guest for March 19 will be Carly Swanson, Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s community engagement specialist for a large portion of west and Southwest Michigan.
“Carly is somebody who’s really out there and we’ve met her through these activities, and we wanted to bring her perspective to our Commerce and Conversation event,” Kiernan said.
Kiernan says Swanson can help Bridgman businesses better navigate new rules and regulations possibly coming in the next couple of years. With economic development the goal for all, she says the more businesses involved, the better.
“It’s a group effort. It literally takes a village, and that’s one of Carly’s main messages is how you can leverage all the resources in your community to make good things happen.”
Kiernan says it’s exciting to know the governor’s office has its eye on Bridgman.
Those who wish to attend the March 19 event can register online. You can do so right here.
