Some DOGE cuts hit Michigan

The Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, is making more cuts in Michigan.

The DOGE website has outlined six Michigan locations have been added to its list of leases that have been canceled as part of its effort to cut government costs.

The cuts will impact the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Baraga, Agricultural Marketing Services in Detroit, Departmental Management in Grand Rapids, and an IRS National Office in Marquette. Indian Health Services leases are also being canceled in Traverse City and Sault Ste. Marie.

Democrats have pushed to include constraints on President Donald Trump and billionaire advisor Elon Musk’s attempts to close down or slash agencies without congressional approval. However, Republicans say they support DOGE-led budget cuts, which they say are about rooting out waste.
