Dyckman Bridge in South Haven is slated to be closed to all traffic for a month.
City manager Kate Hosier tells us work will begin Tuesday, March 4, as the bridge is to undergo maintenance.
“So starting from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. the bridge will be in the up position, so pedestrians or vehicular traffic will not be able to go across,” Hosier says. “This is part of our annual work that we do on the bridge. This is to do maintenance to reinforce the underwater structures with riprap.”
Work is set to take place each day Monday through Friday from for the next month. The bridge will be down and accessible on weekends. Those seeking to get to the north side of the harbor will need to take Baseline Road as a detour.
Work is scheduled to be completed by April 4.
