
A St. Joseph Township woman is dead following a crash on Thursday.
The St. Joseph Township Police Department says it responded to the scene around 9:15 a.m. at Niles Road near Lincoln Avenue. It found the 35-year-old had crashed her vehicle into a utility pole.
Police say the woman had been headed north on Niles when her vehicle veered to the left, jumped the curb, and struck the pole. She had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Neither speed nor alcohol are suspected as factors in the crash.
St. Joseph Township police were assisted at the scene by Michigan State Police, the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, and the St. Joseph Township Fire Department.
