Hilltop Road in St. Joseph will be a traffic challenge for about a week. The Berrien County Road Department says they’re starting sewer main maintenance work today and drivers should be aware of traffic restrictions on Hilltop Road between Washington Avenue and Cleveland Avenue.
The roadway will be closed starting today for repairs to the sewer main. Drivers are advised to follow road closure and detour signage. The work zone and hard closure are approximately 300’ west of Washington Avenue on Hilltop Road, between the State Street and Washington Avenue intersections.
Drivers can access the local businesses in the affected area from the Cleveland Avenue side of the work.
The detour is from Washington Avenue to Nelson Road to Cleveland Avenue. The closure should be removed by or before next Tuesday.
