There’s more recall news involving the Benton Harbor City Commission.

A recall petition filed this month against Commissioner Sharon Henderson has been withdrawn, while new language against her has been filed, and a new petition has been filed against Commissioner Edward Isom as well.

The Berrien County Clerk’s office tells us resident Dennie Brown has now filed language against Isom saying he should be removed from office for “failing to investigate a citizen complaint that the city is operating without a civil service board.” Meanwhile the new language against Henderson says she should be removed for allowing the city to operate without a civil service board.

These latest filings come the same month that recall petitions were filed against Mayor Marcus Muhammad and SaTanna Warren for voting to appoint Alex Little as the city manager.

The clerk’s office now says the Berrien County Election Commission will hold clarity hearings on the petition language against Muhammad and Warren on February 26 at 9 a.m. It will hold clarity hearings on the language against Henderson and Isom at 2 p.m. on March 7.
