This is Random Acts of Kindness Week, and we really need it. That’s the word from the Oakland Family Services President Jaimie Clayton.

“People have the winter doldrums,” Clayton said. “Being nice reduces anxiety, it increases empathy, it increases personal connections, and all of these things elevate mood. So, being kind is a mood elevator.”

Clayton says some things you could do to show kindness to someone else include: recognizing them, volunteering, or donating to a cause.

Clayton adds being nice is a proven mood elevator, adding it’s frankly underrated.
