The Berrien County Suicide Prevention Coalition is looking for some volunteers to help out with an event on February 25.
The coalition says it’ll be stationed at the Slamdunk Stigma basketball gameday at Lake Michigan College that evening to pass out information on its mission. It’s looking for volunteers to collect donations and run the concession stand to raise money for the B4 Foundation, a suicide prevention group based in Ithaca, Michigan.
The B4 Foundation honors the life and achievements of Brady Hessbrook, who took his own life. The B4 Foundation strives to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
By policy, LMC staff is not allowed to raise money at an LMC event for another organization, so the Berrien County Suicide Prevention Coalition is performing those services during the women’s and men’s basketball games that night. The coalition will also a display table there with materials and information for attendees.
Anyone who can help out should email berriencaresmi@gmail.com.
