Fun-loving, unselfish, goodhearted, and loyal – these are just a few words that described Mitzi. She was born into a family of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Newark, Ohio on March 16, 1939. The youngest of ten, she was raised on a farm until tragedy struck her family. She was only five years old when cancer took her father’s life. She, along with one of her sisters and her mother, moved into a 27-foot travel trailer, where she spent the rest of her youth. In spite of this, she loved to have fun. She could sing, dance, and, as a teenager, learned to roller skate well enough to enter some competitions!
Mitzi loved people, had a good sense of humor, and made friendships that lasted her entire life. In fact, a few years after high school, she and three of her friends made an adventurous move to Los Angeles. There, she put her love for music to work at Capitol Records. That was in 1961. This was an exciting time in the music industry, because famous singers and bands were becoming popular.
She still practiced her faith. In 1966, after moving to Boston, she left Capitol Records and worked part-time elsewhere. She did this so she could spend more personal time teaching others about the Scriptures.
During this time, Mitzi met the love of her life. Tony and Mitzi were married on August 17, 1974. Together, they focused on helping others as much as they could – from Boston to Minnesota, and Nebraska to her final days in Michigan.
A traveler at heart and refined by her love of the truth from God’s Word, Mitzi had a rich full life. Her life paused on January 17, 2025, and to be continued very soon in God’s New World to come.
