The Lincoln Township Board of Trustees has moved the new township master plan forward another step.
At its regular meeting on Tuesday, the township board heard from the Planning Commission’s Marc Florian that the body has adopted a draft master plan and now wants the township board to circulate it to surrounding communities, as required by state law.
“We have now developed a draft of the master plan which has been submitted to the supervisor and it has been reviewed by the Planning Commission,” Florian said. “And the Planning Commission has recommended that this body move to state its intent to either approve or reject the master plan.”
Florian asked for a resolution stating the board’s intent to approve the plan once it’s had a review by all the required parties. The final adoption of the plan would come in about 60 days. Trustees then approved a motion stating their intent to adopt the plan.
The master plan governs development around the township for years into the future. The current master plan is about 20 years old, although it has been updated in five-year increments.
