Things are back to normal at St. Joseph High School and Lincoln Elementary School in St. Joseph after the buildings were briefly placed on lockdown Tuesday morning.
The St. Joseph Department of Public Safety tells us it was called to the area of the First Church of God on Niles Avenue around 11:35 a.m. on a report of a suspicious person who was thought to be a possible threat. The person was seen walking through the parking lot.
The two school buildings were put on lockdown as a precaution while police investigated.
Officers were unable to locate the person who’d been reported. They’re now following up on leads.
St. Joseph Public Schools says the two schools were removed from lockdown after about 15 minutes.
Police say there doesn’t appear to be any threat to the community at this time.
