The Genessee County GHOST team, short for Global Human Oppression Strike Team, has busted more predators seeking sex from underage girls.
Sheriff Chris Swanson says the sting operation started in Genessee County but has since spread around the nation to fight against sex trafficking.
“For the last several months, GHOST has worked not only in Genesee County, but with counties and states throughout the country,” Swanson said. “These are tough investigations. We’ve been in the works and established since 2018, May of 2018, and since then, over 200 predators have been arrested.”
Swanson says so far in 2025, they have made eight arrests, including two illegal immigrants, an Uber driver, a man on active duty with the Army, and a man who left his wife and newborn child at home for five hours.
