David Lester Anderson, age 62, peacefully passed away at his home in New Buffalo, MI, on January 1, 2025. Born on August 4, 1962, in Tracy, Minnesota, David led a life rich in adventure.
David is survived by his beloved children, Colton Anderson and Dakota Anderson. Colton, married to Kaitlyn Anderson (née Van Beveren), has gifted David with two cherished grandchildren, Henry Anderson and Savannah Anderson. David’s mother, Donna Jean Westlund, remains among his loving family, along with his devoted siblings, Devorah Sanger and Jacqueline Anderson. Jacqueline’s children, Amanda Anderson and Jadyn Anderson, will fondly remember their uncle. David was predeceased by his father, Richard Anderson.
A man of the great outdoors, David found true joy in nature. He loved tending to his gardens, traveling the world, going on mission trips, fishing, and grilling. His adventurous spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the United Methodist Church of New Lenox on February 22, 2025, from 1pm to 4pm, located at 339 W Haven Ave, New Lenox, IL 60451. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests trees planted in his memory through the Arbor Day Foundaton or to the United Methodist Church of New Lenox
David will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his adventurous soul and kind nature.
