After celebrating 20 years in 2024, the Women’s Business Center is looking to expand on their mission in 2025.

WBC at Cornerstone Alliance manager Chrissy Meeks tells us 2025 is the year to continue to support and grow small businesses in Southwest Michigan.

“We want to see more women-owned businesses in our area, and that’s what we really do hope to accomplish in the next 20 years,” Meeks says. “We want to not only support those that are economically disadvantaged or those of less income, but again women is the big support that we are here for.”

To help with that, the WBC will be launching a series of new events to help develop small business owners including a mentorship program with the goal of giving instructions and answer the questions that business owners may not know the answers too.

“What we would really like to do is get the opportunity out there for those that are, again, either looking to start up a business and need some support or those that are already in business that would like more support from those that maybe are successfully doing their business well and growing their business. We are going to align with some of the local advisors.

Meeks also noted there will be a virtual training event on Feb. 4 to help women’s own certification through the FDA. More information will come out about that event.
