Mass deportations are a part of President Donald Trump’s early-term promises. That, and sweeping immigration reforms, have some in the Detroit Hispanic community anxious.
Latin Americans for Social and Economic Development Director Mary Carmen Muoz says there have already been signs of movement by the federal government in Detroit.
“There has been an increase of Border Patrol vehicles in the community, but that’s all we can say at this time,” Muoz said. “It’s just been a little bit of an increase, more than normal.”
Muoz says they’re getting the community ready for anything . However, she says she doesn’t expect agents to go door-to-door.
