St. Joseph schools adds some new faces to their Board of Education.

At the first 2025 Board of Education meeting on Monday, Kerry Wright was selected as the new president. Wright, who most recently served as vice president, looks forward to continuing to provide quality education for all students at St. Joseph schools.

“I’ve been on the school board since 2016 and I had the great opportunity to watch and learn from all those that came before me and continuing to focus on being a servant leader and serving all of our stakeholders in the districts, especially our students, is first and foremost for me,” Wright says.

In addition to the new board president, two new members were appointed to the Board of Education. Becky Foster, who was recently elected, and Gillian Conrad, who was appointed to fill a vacant seat, were officially welcomed to the board.

St. Joseph schools superintendent Kristen Bawks tells us she is excited to see what’s in store for the board.

“We have such a dedicated people around our board table indeed and people who are ready to step into the officer role,” Bawks says. “We’re grateful for that commitment and we know that their commitment will continue to elevate our students’ experience and continue that tradition of excellence in St. Joseph Public Schools.”

Conrad will serve in a board role until the next general election in 2026.
