Jerry Lee Curtis, 73, of Dowagiac, passed away, early Tuesday morning, January 14, 2025, at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.

He was born on August 27, 1951, in Dowagiac. A graduate of Dowagiac High School, Jerry was a welder by trade and was employed by K&M Fabricating in Cassopolis for over 30 years. Jerry he owned and operated Curt Craft LLC in Dowagiac for several years, until his retirement. In his earlier years, Jerry was an avid drag car racer. He raced at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI and Osceola Dragway in Osceola, IN. After retirement, Jerry enjoyed breakfast at Mr. Wahoo’s Eatery in Dowagiac.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Linda L. Curtis; daughter – Nancy; two grandchildren; three stepsons – Bryan (Robin) Sandberg, Ray (Della) Sandberg, and Dan (Kristen) Sandberg; twelve step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents – Russell and Marion (Edgerton) Curtis; and brother – Roger Curtis.

Honoring Jerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel and Cremation Services – Starks Family Funeral Homes, Dowagiac.
