Coming up later this month, the Southwest Michigan Society of Women Engineers is hosting a give back night to raise funds for youth programs and their scholarship program.
SWE board member Patricia Davis tells us the group advocates for young engineers and on Wednesday January 29, the’ll be raising money at Silver Beach Pizza.
“We advocate for young girls to get involved in engineering. It’s taken us years to get where we are at with women in engineering,” Davis says. “We go to schools, we do outreach programs, we go to Girl Scouts, and we do science kit stuff like STEM related activities.”
Davis tells us all proceeds will go to their youth programs. If you attend, you must present the SWE flyer for the organization to get credit. The event will take place from 4 to 9 p.m.
