Boil water advisory lifted in South Haven

A boil water advisory for some residents of the city of South Haven has been lifted.

The advisory was issued by the South Haven Water and Sewer Authority on Friday due to a loss in pressure created by crews repairing a water main break. It affected businesses in the 1100 block of Phoenix Street, just east of the Blue Star Highway intersection.

The advisory was lifted Monday morning after the water and sewer authority and the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy determined it was no longer necessary. The authority says corrective measures have been taken following the line break, and follow-up sampling has confirmed no coliform bacteria in the water supply.

Anyone with questions can contact the South Haven Department of Public Works.
