Teresa Joan McOmber, affectionately known to many as Mom, Grandma, or Aunt Tere, was a beacon of love and warmth in the lives of all who had the privilege to know her. Born on May 20, 1948, in Niles, Michigan, Tere’s life was an embodiment of love, thoughtfulness, and supportive spirit. Her true calling was nurturing her family and making her home a haven of care and joy.

Tere was a spirited woman with a heart of gold. She had a knack for creating beautiful things, be it through her love of crochet or her exceptional skill in cooking and baking, and known for her beautiful wedding cakes. However, the greatest joy in Tere’s life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her eyes sparkled with a unique light every time she was with them, and she treasured every moment spent in their company. Tere was also a devoted Jehovah’s Witness for 58 years, and she enjoyed sharing her faith with others and talking to people about the Bible.

Tere is survived by her loving children, Pete (Ann) McOmber of Niles, MI, Amy (Roger) Morgan of Niles, MI, Laura (Jeff) Pollitt of Buchanan, MI; her siblings Robert Trowbridge of Cleburne, TX, Jeannette (Richard) Karpinski of Buchanan, MI; her cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey (Winnie Yu) McOmber, Ashley (Andrew) Price, Amber (Javon) Donaldson, Alexander (Emily Lapham) McOmber; and her precious great-grandchildren Attalee, AJ, and on the way, Amari; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Jr. and Jacqueline Trowbridge; her beloved husband, Michael McOmber; and her siblings, John, Thomas, and Cindy Trowbridge.

The void that Tere’s passing leaves in our hearts is vast, but the love and memories she left behind are even greater. We invite you to share your memories of Tere, and upload photos that capture her loving, thoughtful, supportive, and spirited essence on her memorial page. There, we can remember and celebrate the extraordinary woman whose life was a gift to us all.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.
