Michigan Maritime Museum invites the community to check out what its like in the winter.
Director of Education and programs Ashley Deming tells us the museum will host a variety of different interactive and hands-on activities to explore the museum and the beauty of the wintery harbor.
“Even in the winter, the campus is just a little bit different, the harbor is different, so it’s an opportunity to see the waterfront at a different time of year,” Deming says.
Starting Jan 2 through the 4th, visitors can check out and see water demonstrations, a behind the scenes look at the Padnos Boat Shed, and take part in an adventure that takes you throughout the entire museum campus.
“On Thursday the 2nd, we’re going to be doing science demonstrations with water,” Deming says. “We’re going to do other science experiments, hands-on activities in our Learning Center. Friday, we are opening up our padnos for the public and get a chance to do some hands-on things with our volunteers and staff during our winter work session. On Saturday, we have our Adventure Agenda.”
All Maritime Days activities are included with museum admission. Tickets are $10 for adults, children over 4 is $6, and seniors is $9.
