There’s a holiday tradition in northern Michigan’s Big Glen Lake off M-22 that separates Big and Little Glen Lakes.

Frank Siepker and his wife started decorating a Christmas tree ten years ago and put it on a boat in Big Glen Lake in back of their house.

A lot of the community really enjoys it because it is so visible from M-22, the highway that drives across the narrows between the two lakes.” Siepers said. “So as everyone drives over the bridge in the evening or in the morning, they get to see the lights on the tree floating out there, bobbing around in the water.”

Siepker says the tree has six thousand LED lights and their kids are now decorating the tree.
