Bridgman Public Schools Superintendent Shane Peters has received high marks from the board of education.
Peters had his annual performance evaluation this week, and the district says the board has rated him as “highly effective,” the best rating he could have received. The board also approved an extension of his contract, through December of 2026.
Peters has agreed to continue serving to help Bridgman Public Schools navigate some challenging times ahead as the district’s budget will have to be cut due to the recent reduction in the valuation of the Cook nuclear power plant.
Bridgman Public Schools Board of Education President Eric Ramso says Peters has been “a steadfast leader for our schools, always putting students and staff first.” He continues, “His vision and dedication have been instrumental in driving academic achievement and fostering a supportive environment for our families.”
With Peters at the helm, Bridgman High School has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the 22nd best high school in Michigan and 784th nationally. The board of education thanked him for his leadership.
