The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety (BHDPS) responded to an apartment fire on Monday and now investigators say it was intentionally set.
BHDPS responded to the fire just after noon at 436 Broadway in Benton Harbor. On arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story apartment building. The fire was contained to one unit but the entire building suffered smoke and water damage.
As a result of the fire, two families were displaced. BHDPS says one arrest was made at the scene for arson. The suspect’s name was not disclosed. No injuries were reported.
