Southwest Michigan isn’t the only part of the state to be slammed with snow this week.

Snow has packed a wallop in northern Michigan and parts of the U.P. over the past few days. National Weather Service meteorologist in Gaylord, Monique Runyon, says they’ve had 42.9 inches of snow since last Thursday.

Oh yeah, we have lots of snow,” Runyan said. “It’s primarily across the typical snow belt areas, which is along and west of I-75, across northwest and north central lower Michigan, and of course a good chunk of eastern upper Michigan. Some places have received upwards of between anywhere from two to as much as even three, three and a half feet of snow.”

Runyon says the snow will continue until this weekend. She says it’s created hazardous driving driving conditions.
