The GhostLight Theater in Benton Harbor is calling on supporters to help it take full advantage of a generous donation it’s received.

GhostLight manager Paul Mow tells us the anonymous donor has put up $50,000 and has offered to match another $50,000 in donations. The donations will have to be made during the current GhostLight season.

“Most people do like to do their annual giving near the end of the calendar year, but we’ve seen people give well into the new year,” Mow said. “Our season kicks off every November with our brunch where we announce our shows and goes through the following November.”

So, they have plenty of time.

Mow says the GhostLight has found plenty of support in the community the past few years.

We rely on those consistent patrons and consistent donors. Whether it’s a dollar or $500 they give every year, we rely on it. We hope that they’ll continue to do what they did last year. Maybe they’ll be even more engaged this year.”

Mow says most of the GhostLight Theater’s shows have been sold out. You can find the theater’s donation page right here.

Looking ahead, Mow notes the GhostLight’s next production will be Clyde’s, which follows the lives of some ex-cons who now work at a truck stop diner. Auditions are coming up next week and the show begins in February.
