This is your chance to light up your house like Clark Griswold.

South Haven residents are being invited to take part in a holiday home decorating contest.

The South Haven Van Buren County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Shooting Star, and South Haven Mayor Annie Brown are hosting the first ever Sparkle Showdown, as they’re calling it. The community-wide competition encourages neighbors to transform their homes with festive holiday decor and then vote for their favorite displays throughout South Haven.

The bureau’s Jennifer Sistrunk says the Sparkle Showdown “is a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to let their creativity shine and bring the spirit of the season to life.”

It’s free to take part, but competing households must sign up by December 1. They’ll then be included in the Sparkle Showdown digital pass that will be shared with the public for community voting, which will be open from December 9 through December 23. The top three displays, announced on Christmas Eve, will win cash prizes of up to $1,500.

You can sign up for the competition right here.
