Michigan State Police Niles Post is once again hosting its annual Stuff a Blue Goose event.
On Friday, Nov. 22, MSP troopers will be collecting donations during a four-hour period and giving them to local organizations such as Cass County Toys for Tots, Helping Hands of Cass County, Red Bud Area Ministries, and Mosaic Wonderland Toy Store.
Niles post MSP trooper Holly Higgs tells us this is the tenth year holding the event.
“It’s amazing what the community will give when we even know its hard times, and we know what we may not get a lot but we’ll make it work,” Higgs says. “For this event, we are just the facilitators of people who want to give and help them to know where it’s going.”
During the event, a “blue goose” or MSP patrol vehicle will be stationed outside Walmart in Niles and Meijer in Stevensville from 1 to 5 p.m. collecting donations of all sorts including toys, canned goods, toiletries, and other necessities. If you’re unable to make it to the store, Higgs tells us you can still contribute.
“You can either reach out to the charities we are giving to,” Higgs says. “We will also accept through the weekend at the post.”
All donations stay local and help those families in need within our communities.
