Lincoln Township is now under new management.

The township board of trustees this year moved to change the structure of local government to have a hired manager in place running things in the office day to day, instead of having an elected supervisor in that role.

New Lincoln Township Manager Ralph Bansen started about a month ago, working alongside retiring Supervisor Dick Stauffer and Clerk Stacy Loar-Porter to learn the ropes. He tells us he’s excited to serve.

I’d just like to say I’ve been a long time employee in the resident of Lincoln Township,” Bansen said. “I’m excited to get a start here…I’ve been on for about the last month. I’m really fortunate to have Mr. Stauffer and Stacy take me underneath their wings and sort of get me situated in the job. So we look forward to a long, fruitful employment and working relationship here and hope we can move forward and make some positive impact in our community.”

Bansen worked for the Lincoln Township Police Department for 35 years, most recently as a lieutenant before putting in for the manager’s job. He wants residents to know his door is always open to them when they have concerns.

After stepping down as supervisor, Stauffer will become a regular township trustee, having been elected to the post this month.
