Dolphins 23, Rams 15 – Tyreek Hill scores key TD, Dolphins hold off the Rams 23-15 to snap 3-game skid
The Miami Dolphins snapped their three-game losing streak with a gritty 23-15 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Tyreek Hill caught a short touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa while playing through a wrist injury, and rookie Malik Washington rushed 18 yards for his first NFL touchdown on the opening possession of a much-needed turnaround game for the beleaguered Dolphins. Matthew Stafford passed for 293 yards and rookie Joshua Karty made five field goals for the Rams, whose three-game winning streak ended with a dramatic offensive regression. The Rams failed to score a TD for only the eighth time in coach Sean McVay’s eight seasons.
NFL – Coach Dan Campbell still amazed at Lions comeback to beat Texans on Sunday night
Dan Campbell has seen a lot of things as an NFL player and coach. He had never seen anything like Sunday night, though. The Lions overcame five interceptions by Jared Goff — one more than he had thrown in the first eight games — and came back to beat the Houston Texans 26-23. They trailed 23-7 at halftime. Kicker Jake Bates made a 58-yard field goal to tie the game in the fourth quarter and a 52-yarder to win it as time expired.
NFL – Bears are mulling whether to fire OC Shane Waldron, coach Matt Eberflus says
The Chicago Bears are mulling whether to fire offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. Coach Matt Eberflus vowed to make changes in the wake of a 19-3 face-plant against the New England Patriots for Chicago’s third straight loss. He just wasn’t ready to announce them. Eberflus says the decision on Waldron is “mine alone, yessir.” The Bears could strip Waldron of his play-calling duties if they don’t let him go. They ranked 30th in the NFL in total offense and 24th in scoring through Sunday. Chicago has gone back-to-back games and 23 consecutive possessions without a touchdown since scoring in the final minute at Washington in Week 8, when it lost on a Hail Mary pass. Waldron is in his first year with the Bears after replacing the fired Luke Getsy.

NCAAFB – Jack Del Rio leaving Wisconsin’s staff after arrest on charge of OWI
Former NFL head coach Jack Del Rio has stepped down from his role on Wisconsin’s coaching staff after he was arrested near campus for operating a vehicle while intoxicated last week. Del Rio had joined Wisconsin’s staff in August as an adviser to head coach Luke Fickell. He said he was leaving so the team could focus on their upcoming games. Madison police said Del Rio was arrested Friday for a first-offense OWI after a vehicle hit a stop sign and broke a fence before resting in a yard. Officers said Del Rio was walking away and showed signs of impairment when they arrived.
NHL – Shea Weber, Pavel Datsyuk enshrined as part of Hockey Hall of Fame’s 2024 class

The former defenseman headlined the 2024 class inducted Monday night, joining Russian center Pavel Datsyuk and Boston-born winger Jeremy Roenick, as well as Olympic medalists Natalie Darwitz and Krissy Wendell in the player category. NHL executives David Poile and Colin Campbell entered as builders. Datsyuk, 46, put up 918 points in 953 games with the Detroit Red Wings. He chipped in 113 points across 157 playoff contests that included Stanley Cup victories in 2002 and 2008. The Russian center with majestic skill was also a four-time Lady Byng Trophy winner as the NHL’s most gentlemanly player and captured the Selke Trophy as the league’s top defensive forward on three occasions. Datsyuk, who along with Weber was enshrined in his first year of eligibility, played five seasons in the KHL after leaving Detroit in 2016. He represented his country at five straight Olympics, capturing gold in 2018 and bronze in 2002. “Being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame is a tremendous honor,” Datsyuk said. "(An) honor I couldn’t even dream of.” Roenick, 54, banked 1,216 points in 1,363 games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. The colorful, Boston-born winger added 122 points (53 goals, 69 assists) in 154 playoff contests. Roenick, who won silver at the 2002 Olympics, had to wait 12 years to get his hall call. “I love this game,” he said. “It’s been such a huge part of my life for most of my life.”
