One of the reasons former President Donald Trump secured a win in Michigan was success with young voters.
Debra Cleaver is Founder and CEO of VoteAmerica.org. She says the youth vote turned out across Michigan for Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Cleaver says Trump did well with one particular group of young people.
“The swing to the right that we are seeing is primarily coming from young white men on campuses,” Cleaver said. “It’s not coming from women. It’s not coming from people of color.”
Cleaver says that group of voters is moving further to the right, which benefited Trump on Election Day.
