Glenn Lee Abshagen, 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 24, 2024. Glenn was born on July 2, 1950, in Paw Paw, Michigan, to Henry and Margaret (Mihelich) Abshagen. He grew up in Decatur, Michigan, with two brothers and one sister. Glenn graduated from Decatur High School in 1968 and from Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, Michigan, in 1970 with an Associate’s Degree in Drafting Technology. He spent most of his career as a CAD designer at Carl Walker Inc. in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Most recently, Glenn worked remotely with Restore Consulting in Holland, Michigan.

Glenn married the love of his life, Diane Meeusen on June 14, 1975, and they celebrated their 49th year of marriage this past summer. Glenn came to faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as an adult. First Baptist Church in Paw Paw was Glenn’s church home. Over the years, Glenn grew in his faith and love for the Lord and spent many hours quietly serving God and his brothers and sisters in Christ.

Glenn was the ultimate handyman who never encountered a problem he did not try to fix. Throughout his life, he also designed and created many original pieces of furniture. Glenn enjoyed taking walks and bike rides, going on drives, making pasties from his mother’s recipe, and watching and playing basketball with his children and grandchildren. Vacationing yearly with his family in the Silver Lake/Pentwater area was one of Glenn’s favorite things to do.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Steve (Dana) Abshagen, Kim (Dave) Hill, Katie Abshagen and Scott Abshagen; grandchildren, Makayla Hill, Makenzie Hill, Josiah Abshagen, Emma Abshagen, Kylie Hill and Nathaniel Abshagen; brothers, Ed (Linda) Abshagen and Jim Abshagen and several nieces and nephews. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Margaret (Mihelich) Abshagen and sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Don Graham.
