Congressman Bill Huizenga says he’s honored and humbled to have won reelection in Michigan’s Fourth District this week.

Huizenga tells us the big wins for Republicans show people want change. Heading back to Washington, he says getting new spending bills in place by mid December will be the first order of business.

What about when the new Congress takes over with President Donald Trump back in the White House?

We have a significant number of the tax provisions from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which brought real relief to middle-income families,” Huizenga said. “Those are expiring. So lots of debate and discussion about what that looks like.”

Huizenga says Trump’s big popular and electoral victory this week show the people want the change he’s been promising.

I gotta tell you, I’d better not hear a peep out of my Democrat colleagues, when it comes time to certify this election, because I’m a guy who  certified in 2020. I voted to certify that election and it’s going to be interesting to see if they’re going to stick to their own rhetoric now.”

As for talk about Trump bringing the end of democracy, Huizenga says he already has a four-year track record that shows such a thing won’t happen. He tells the other party to tone down the rhetoric and focus on governing.
