Michigan Democrats are hoping to retain control of the State House and Senate this election cycle after winning the majority in both in 2022 for the first time in 40 years.
Bridge Michigan Deputy Editor Jonathan Oosting says it’s important to pay attention to all down-ballot races before voting.
“There certainly will be some ticket splitters and, some of these real far down ticket races, for instance, the Michigan Supreme Court,” Oosting said. “It’s always good to remind folks, those candidates are nominated by political parties, they are on the non-partisan section of your ballot. So there are two Michigan Supreme Court seats up for election on Tuesday.”
The majority of Michigan Supreme Court justices are those nominated by Democrats, who are hoping it stays that way.
