In observation of National Diabetes month in November, Michigan State University Extension is offering free, virtual educational sessions.

If you or someone you care for is living with diabetes, MSU extension health educator Christi Demitz says this is something worth attending.

“All of us know at least one person that has either diabetes or prediabetes, so attendees can not only refresh their knowledge base if they do have diabetes, they can learn more about how to support their loved one that is diagnosed with diabetes.”

Throughout the month of November, MSU extension will host four different virtual sessions with topics including diabetes basics, controlling blood sugar with diet, meal planning, and physical activity. A different topic will be covered in each session, and address the important aspects of managing prediabetes or diabetes.

“They’ll hear something that applies directly to themselves. They cover the different lifestyle changes that people have to better manage their diabetes.”

Those interested in signing up for a session can find the link here. People can attend all or one of the sessions.

Registration is open through November 20.
