9/11 Hero Climb raises money for three local fire stations

9/11 Hero Climb

The annual BOSS Services 9/11 Hero Climb at Dickinson Park last month was a success, as proceeds were donated to three local fire stations.

Over 250 community members and emergency responders showed support by climbing 2,071 stadium stairs in remembrance of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Organizer Jeff Street tells us around $8,000 was donated at the event.

“The event was a huge success. It was bigger than it was last year. We again, appreciate all the support the community gave and we’re looking forward to doing it again next year and trying to make it a little bit bigger and better.”

All proceeds were donated to local Berrien County fire departments including Benton Harbor Public Safety for rescue struts, Pipestone Berrien Township Eau Claire for a hydrant adaptor, and Benton Charter Township to upgrade their Jaws of Life mechanism.

BOSS Services thanks all participants for the support. Street says next year’s event will look to be even better.
