No injuries have been reported in a fire that severely damaged a vacant store in Benton Township on Monday.
The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety says it responded to the blaze at the former party store on North Fair and Edgecumbe in the afternoon.
Public safety officers arrived to find heavy fire and smoke. It took several hours but firefighters got the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Also responding to the scene were the Benton Township Fire Department, the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety, the St. Joseph Township Fire Department, the Lincoln Township Fire Department, Medic 1, and the Benton Township Police Department.
