The Southwestern Michigan Tourist Council has launched a new challenge for art and outdoor enthusiasts.

Executive director Marcy Simpson tells us the mural challenge invites residents and visitors to embark on a colorful journey across Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties, experiencing the fall colors and artistic flair the murals bring.

“It’s just an opportunity for folks to get out and explore maybe parts of town or different communities around Southwest Michigan that they haven’t been to. We just want everyone to be aware of it, take advantage of getting out and seeing these beautiful pieces.”

Participants can visit any of the mural sites throughout the region using the Visit Southwest Michigan app, and check in by uploading a photo of yourself in front of the mural. The first 100 participants to check in at 10 murals will receive a $15 St. Joe Today gift card.

“In addition, you get a little sticker that you can put on a water bottle or your laptop or wherever you’d like to put it.”

This is the first murals challenge hosted by the Southwest Michigan Tourism Council.
