Reduced adoption fees in October at Berrien County Animal Control

The Berrien County Animal Control is participating in the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelter initiative in October.

From October 1 to October 15, all spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped dogs and cats will be available for reduced adoption fees. Friends of Berrien County Animal Control’s Katherine Francis tells us this is the perfect time to make a new furry friend.

We are at capacity and we struggle to take in more animals and care for them properly,” Francis said. “We would love to get these dogs and cats into their forever homes and make space for other needy animals in the community.”

Francis tells us that there are several pets that are waiting for their new home. So just how much does will it cost?

You can take a spayed, neutered, microchipped cat home for just $10, and all of our dogs are just $35.”

Adopters with other dogs in the home must bring them for a meet and greet.

You can see the dogs and cats that are at the shelter by visiting mi564.petfinder.com or by calling animal control at 269-927-5648.
